About us

About Ikageng Health Centre

A primary healthcare clinic at 1539 Lekhele Street, Ikageng, Potchefstroom — built around the everyday health needs of our community.

Who we are

Healthcare that starts by listening

Ikageng Health Centre is a healthcare clinic serving Ikageng and the wider Potchefstroom area. We focus on the everyday needs of our community — from the first weeks of pregnancy through to childhood, preventive screening and the ongoing management of long-term conditions.

Our approach is straightforward. We listen, we explain what we find in plain language, and we help you decide what to do next. Every consultation is an opportunity to ask questions, and we would rather you leave understanding your health than simply having been seen.

How we work

What you can expect when you visit

Good healthcare starts with trust. That means taking the time to understand what is really troubling you, explaining your options honestly, and making sure you leave knowing what happens next.

Respectful, private consultations

You are greeted as a person, not a condition. Your information is treated with care, and you can ask to speak privately at any point.

Plain-language explanations

We explain what a result means and what your options are, so that you can make an informed decision rather than simply follow instructions.

Time to ask questions

If something was not clear, ask us — at the visit, or afterwards by phone or email. We would rather answer a question twice than leave a worry unanswered.

Ongoing support

For long-term conditions we build a review rhythm around your needs, rather than a series of one-off visits that never quite connect.

Meet your Private Nurse Practitioner

Sr Sesi Mogoera

Sr Sesi Mogoera is your Private Nurse Practitioner at Ikageng Health Centre. She has 26 years of nursing experience, 13 of them as a professional nurse, helping people with everyday health needs. You will usually see her for your care, so you do not have to start your story from scratch at every visit.

She listens carefully and explains your options in plain language. You can also phone or email the Health Centre if you need advice after your visit.

Your health is our priority

Every consultation at Ikageng Health Centre is guided by the same simple idea: the person in front of us matters more than the condition they arrive with.

  • We take the time to understand what is really troubling you.
  • We explain your options honestly, including the ones that are not convenient.
  • We make sure you leave knowing what happens next.
  • We treat your information with care and keep it confidential.

Training and clinical programmes

Programme Training behind every consultation

Our Practitioner holds the following programme training. Each one shapes how a specific part of your care is delivered.

  • CTOP

    Comprehensive Termination of Pregnancy

Training in the assessment, counselling and management of termination of pregnancy, including referral pathways and follow-up care.

This is training, not a service we offer at the clinic. Please ask us and we will point you to the right place.

  • PMTCT

Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV

Training in antenatal HIV testing, antiretroviral treatment, safe delivery planning and infant follow-up.

Delivered as part of our antenatal care and HIV testing and counselling services.

  • BANC Plus

    Basic Antenatal Care Plus

An expanded antenatal care programme that adds key screening and HIV services to the standard antenatal visit, with a structured schedule of follow-up appointments.

Delivered as part of our antenatal care service.

Not sure what a programme covers, or whether it applies to you? Phone us on 067 575 2528 and we will explain what it means before you come in.
