Privacy policy

Ikageng Health Centre respects your right to privacy. This policy explains what happens to information you share through this website. It applies to the pages of this site only. It does not cover information you share with us in person at the clinic, or by telephone, which is handled as part of your clinical record.

Who is responsible

Ikageng Health Centre, of 1539 Lekhele Street, Ikageng Location, Potchefstroom, North West, South Africa, is the responsible party for the information collected through this website. What this website collects

This is a static website. It has no user accounts, no login, no membership scheme, no online booking system and no server-side database. Nothing you do on this site creates a record on a server that we control.

Specifically, the site:

• does not use cookies, advertising pixels or tracking technology of any kind;
• does not use analytics services, so no usage data is collected about your visit;
• does not load fonts, scripts, images or stylesheets from any third-party server;
• does not embed any social media feeds, comment systems or live chat widgets;
• does not embed a Google Maps iframe, so no map or location data is sent to Google unless you choose to follow a directions link.

The only information this website can receive is information that you actively type in and send yourself.

The enquiry form

When you use the enquiry form on the contact page, your browser checks the information you have entered and then opens your own email application with the enquiry pre-filled. The message is sent by you, from your device, using your email account. It is not transmitted through this website, and it is not stored on any server belonging to this site.

If your email application does not open, the form offers you the clinic’s email address so that you can write the message yourself.

Because the message travels through your own email provider, that provider will handle it under its own privacy policy, in the same way as any other email you send.

Links to other services

This site links to a small number of external services, and each one is a separate organisation with its own rules:

• Google Maps directions. When you follow a directions link, you are taken to Google Maps and Google’s own privacy policy applies from that point on. We have chosen a directions link rather than an embedded map precisely so that no visitor information is shared with Google automatically.
• WhatsApp. When you follow a WhatsApp link, WhatsApp’s privacy policy applies. Messages you send that way are governed by WhatsApp and not by us.
• Email and telephone links. These hand you over to your own email or phone application.

How we use information you send us

When you send us an enquiry by email, WhatsApp or telephone, we use it for one purpose only: to answer your question and to arrange your care if that is what you need. We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list without asking, and we do not share your details with third parties for their own purposes.

Clinical information that forms part of your record at the clinic is handled differently, as part of your healthcare record, under the usual professional and legal obligations that apply to a health practice.

Your choices

Security

This website is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the web server is encrypted. We cannot control the security of your own device or email account, so please take the usual care when sending health information by email or WhatsApp.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will deal with it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last reviewed.
